Packers safety Evan Williams went down with a knee injury in the loss to the Broncos.

The Green Bay Packers had a devastating game on Sunday, as they lost to the Denver Broncos. However, the loss wasn't as harmful as the injuries that piled up: Micah Parsons went down with a torn ACL, and other key players, Christian Watson, Zach Tom, and Evan Williams, also suffered injuries.

Williams came down with a knee sprain and is expected to miss one or two games. The 24-year-old safety had been playing at a high level for Green Bay's defense.

On the season, Williams has 92 total tackles, four tackles for loss, three interceptions, and a fumble recovery.

The Packers took Williams in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, and he quickly emerged as the safety on the other side of All-Pro Xavier McKinney.

Green Bay drafted safety Javon Bullard in the second round of the same draft, but Williams outplayed him and took the starting spot. Bullard has since emerged as an elite player in the slot and has been starting there for the Packers.

With Williams out for a game or two, Green Bay could move Bullard back to safety and start cornerback Nate Hobbs in the slot.

The Packers inked Hobbs to a four-year $48 million deal this offseason, hoping to convert him to an outside corner.

However, Hobbs has struggled at outside corner and was benched for Carrington Valentine. When Hobbs was with the Las Vegas Raiders, he thrived as a slot corner, and it could make sense to move him back there while Williams is out.

If the Packers decide to keep Bullard in the slot, they could start Zayne Anderson or Kitan Oladapo opposite of McKinney.

Green Bay's defense under Jeff Hafley has played at a high level all season long, but as the injuries pile up, it only gets more difficult during the stretch run.

The Packers take on the Chicago Bears in Week 16 at Soldier Field, with the winner taking first place in the NFC North.

With Williams out, Green Bay will need its depth to step up, with Bullard and Hobbs potentially making a position change and playing major roles.
