Tata Motors PV Share Price Target

Analysts have turned cautious on the stock after recent headwinds. HSBC has maintained a Hold rating on Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, cutting its target price to Rs 400 from Rs 466, around 12 per cent upside from current price levels.

The brokerage believes that risks surrounding Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), which operates under the PV business umbrella, outweigh the upside near term.

These risks include potential US tariffs, an ageing product lineup, China’s luxury tax concerns, the recent cyber-attack at JLR, and weak demand in Europe.

On the positive side, HSBC notes that the PV business in India may benefit from upcoming launches like the Sierra as well as expected Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme benefits for electric vehicles, including Nexon EV and Harrier EV.

Tata Motors Demerger

Tata Motors has recently completed a major structural change. The demerger of its businesses, announced in 2024, took effect from October 1, 2025.

The company split into two independent units, Commercial vehicles business shifted into a separate company. On the other hand, the Passenger vehicles business, including PV, EV and JLR- now operates as Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPVL)

This restructuring aims to unlock growth potential independently in both segments.

Tata Motors PV Q2 Results

Financially, the company reported a sharp rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 76,248 crore for Q2 FY26, compared to Rs 3,521 crore last year.

However, this surge includes a large notional gain of Rs 82,600 crore from the disposal of discontinued operations linked to the demerger and a financial restructuring move involving Tata Capital.

Excluding this one-time impact, operational performance saw pressure due to the cyber incident at JLR. Total revenue fell to Rs 72,349 crore from Rs 83,656 crore a year earlier. JLR revenue dropped 24.3 per cent to £4.9 billion, with EBIT margins slipping to -8.6 per cent.

Domestically, however, PV and EV volumes rose 10.8 per cent YoY to 1,44,500 units, supported by festive demand and GST reductions.
